When the Kowhai tree.....

When the Kowhai tree blooms, the kina are fat!!

The season is here for Hauhake o nga tamariki o Tangaroa. (the harvest of the ocean)

Well, I love being Maori (Tangata Whenua). Mainly, because I love the kai my people celebrate.... All of my favourite food come from my beloved home land. MEAN!!... ofcourse, chocolate being the exception.... in saying that, if cuzzies, could grow coacoa, I'd have no real reason to leave my shores... I have other reasons obviously.... but food would not be one of them.

So, this entry is dedicated to KINA. (Evechinus chloroticus) Kina is a sea urchin... and Maori eat em'. Well the tounge anyway.

Nothing wrong with that Bei!! AUE Hi!

As you can see from my wee vid...the smile says it all mate.... LOVE it!
